Incat Crowther was named 2016 Business of the Year at a the North Eastern Sydney Regional Business Awards gala dinner hosted by the NSW Business Chamber at the Kirribilli Club. This prestigious award was presented by the NSW Treasurer, The Hon. Gladys Berejiklian, MP. Incat Crowther, a diversified marine engineering and naval architecture company, also won the Excellence in Innovation Award.

The company designs and constructs specialised ships for public transport, the Oil and Gas industry and maritime military use. Incat Crowther developed a 70m Fast crew boat fitted with a heave compensating gangway and staging area for the safe transfer of crew tow and from deep water oil rigs. The innovative design was in response to the need for faster transport of passengers and equipment as offshore platforms for oil and gas moved into deeper water and further offshore.

NSW Business Chamber Deputy President, Nola Watson congratulated Incat Crowther for taking out the region’s top honour as 2016 Business of the Year.  

“Incat Crowther is a fantastic example of a business whose passion, drive and innovation inspire us all.  The 2016 North Eastern Sydney Business Awards showcase the diverse array of talent in the region’s business community, and this year the competition was particularly tough," she said.

"After years of being at the forefront of the marine design industry it’s great to be recognised with this award," Matt Lyon from Incat Crowther said about winning the Excellence in Innovation award.
