Australian Wildlife Society

Excellence in Social Enterprise

The Australian Wildlife Society is a volunteer registered, non-for-profit conservation organisation formed in 1909.

The Society is totally committed to the preservation and protection of Australia’s unique native fauna and flora in all its forms through national environmental education programs, community involvement, political lobbying and advocacy, as well as practical hands-on wildlife conservation projects.

They do not receive any government aid and are completely self-funded. The Society offers ten $1,500.00 scholarships to university students and two $25,000 scholarships at the University of New South Wales and University of Technology.

The Australian Wildlife Society publishes a quarterly magazine called “Australian Wildlife” and generates revenue through membership fees and donations.
